About Us
Arizona Birthworkers of Color is an organization dedicated to the growth, fellowship, and support of people of color within birth-related fields in Arizona. Arizona Birthworkers of Color (AZBOC), founded in 2016, is a collective group of people of color who offer services that support families before, during, and after childbirth. We are also advocates, stakeholders, business owners, and leaders within the field of birthwork locally and nationally.
The overreaching intention of AZBOC is to uplift, support, and create space for connection amongst Birthworkers of Color in Arizona.
Purpose/Mission
We hold space for the individual journeys and specific challenges of community based Birthworkers whom without organizations like ours would likely work alone in silos.
We provide opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally allowing Birthworkers to show up well and whole for the families they serve.
Through hands-on skill building workshops, professional development, leadership training, and self-regulation awareness, Birthworkers can sharpen their craft in a safe environment with love, respect, and dignity.
Arizona Birthworkers of Color works to help Birthworkers of Color to be seen, heard, and honored for their work.

How We Serve
AZBOC Facebook Group - Our Private Facebook Group is for Birthworkers of Color to share opportunities and foster community.
Meetups - We host monthly gatherings to network, connect, and share resources.
Quarterly Workshops - We offer learning learning opportunities led by leading professionals including radical healing methods for BOC, civic engagement, and professional development.
Arizona Birthworkers of Color Conference- We offer workshops for skill building, learning market trends, personal healing, and peer to peer learning in a person of color only space.
